Frankfurt am Main, Germany and Tatabánya, Hungary – Bosch Secure Truck Parking, the digital booking platform for truck parking spaces, is now also available in Hungary. In an area located around 40 kilometers west of Budapest, 25 secure truck parking spaces are now available to users of the Bosch platform. The pre-reserved truck parking spaces are located at the gates of the city of Tatabánya, on the highly frequented route M61, which connects the cities of Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest.
Secure and comfortable truck parking area
Against the backdrop of the ever-increasing problem of driver shortages in Europe, secure, convenient, and easily available truck parking spaces are a means of retaining well-qualified drivers at a company. The Bosch Secure Truck Parking platform can be conveniently used both in the online application and as an app for dispatchers and drivers. “When selecting the location, we attached great importance to ensuring that truck drivers and their vehicles and cargo are as safe as possible and that the connection to the traffic-relevant points is particularly good,” explains Dr. Jan-Philipp Weers, Director of Bosch Secure Truck Parking. The greatest possible security of the fenced area is ensured by a fully automated entrance control system, 24-hour camera surveillance and very good illumination.
From the operator’s point of view, the digitization of the truck parking lot area also brings advantages: “With Bosch, I can now offer my customers value-added services, such as online reservation”, explains László Szeles of Perfekt Motorfelújítás Kft, operator and owner of the park area in Tatabánya.
For truck drivers, the new location offers maximum comfort for their breaks, because in addition to safety, the site has sanitary facilities and separately lockable washrooms as well as free Wi-Fi. A truck wash is also available on the premises. Gastronomic offers, fast food restaurants and shopping facilities are only about 300 meters from the location. Parking is made easy for truck drivers: the new parking area in Tatabánya has a fully automated entrance control system. “Pulling parking tickets and paying at the parking machine is thus completely replaced,” Weers explains. Technically, this is made possible by the direct connection of the TRITON barrier system. Parking space control takes place digitally and automatically records license plates. By implementing this technology, safety standards are increased, traffic flow is optimized and waiting times for truck drivers are minimized.

Easy booking for reliable route planning
Finding a truck parking space along the planned route is a major daily challenge for truck drivers. It is estimated that around 400,000 secure truck parking spaces are missing in Europe alone. The effects are particularly serious for those affected, as they must adhere to their legally prescribed driving and rest times. In addition, stress and fatigue increase the risk of accidents. Incorrectly parked vehicles pose a high risk not only for themselves but also for other road users. Bosch Secure Truck Parking is therefore pioneering in ensuring truck drivers the necessary security.
The parking areas of Bosch Secure Truck Parking also offer the greatest possible protection against theft and vandalism. Thus, the availability of secure parking makes it easier for truck drivers to comply with rest times and ensures a protected environment for them and the cargo. For forwarding agents and truck drivers, the booking of truck parking spaces is conveniently possible via app and in the online application. When planning the route, the dispatcher can either reserve a parking space for his driver in advance or the driver can do this at short notice via the Bosch Secure Truck Parking App before heading to an area.
The reservation and payment process are automated and contactless: a camera detects the license plate when entering and, if a booking is made, the entrance barrier opens so that the truck driver can drive into the area. The driver does not have to worry about the payment. Carriers who have registered with Bosch Secure Truck Parking will conveniently receive a collective invoice for their bookings at the end of a month. For billing, Bosch Secure Truck Parking works with its partner Bonus Schild Ltd., which ensures seamless processing of transactions.
